Opened in 1893, Château Frontenac is an iconic luxury hotel in Quebec City, built by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Named after Louis de Buade, Comte de Frontenac, it symbolises Quebec’s rich history. Henry Sandham (1842–1910) was a Canadian artist and illustrator known for his detailed historical and genre scenes. Born in Montreal, he worked for The Canadian Illustrated News, gaining recognition for his watercolours and oil paintings.
